Hello All!!
Sorry for the LONG overdue update!! It's been VERY busy around here since my last posting!
I'm sure you all know about our 'new' little one (8 months old already!) Noelle. We had her on December 23rd, 2010.
And if you didn't hear - we are expecting again in December (again!) the week between Noelle and Malachi's birthdays.... I think with 3 birthdays right around Christmas - we're going to be 'presents'ed (is that a word?) out!!
School is starting next week and I am secretly doing my happy dance! We have many changes this year and one major one is that I'm not going back to work for Arapahoe. I'm very excited to stay home this year but kinda sad as well. I loved being able to see my children throughout the day and have them come and find me when they needed things. BUT - change was much needed!! My stress levels where going off the charts and I needed a break!! SO - I am going to continue my Sign Language education through the ESU 9 and I am also set up to be a substitute 'signer' at other schools around us if/when their interpreters need to have a day off..... I'm excited but nervous about that because I'm a NUT about schedules, and walking into somewhere, where I have no clue what is going on and times of things, how that person deals with the child....etc.... is going to test my patience levels! But again - it wont be to often and I'll be saving huge amounts on daycare and getting the rest I need for this upcoming new addition!!
Anthony will be a Sophmore already....where has the time gone?! After a VERY successful football, wrestling, and track season's last year - we are already anticipating on a very busy schedule from him as well! I think the high light of my year for him was his wrestling career. He did such an awesome job!! He even got to go to State - as a FRESHMAN!! He got beat out his first 2 matches - but it was a great learning year!
Dalton will be entering his 1st year of Junior High this year - the big 7th grade!! He is looking forward to all the different sports!! We were going through shoes the other day trying to figure out who needs new shoes and stuff for school, and I realized that Dalton's feet have grown SO much - that his feet are bigger than Anthonys. We were laughing and telling Anthony that he can now have his little brothers 'outgrown' hand-me-downs instead of it being the other way around.... he wasn't to impressed, but he was laughing as well. Dalton is starting off the year by being a student manager for the HS football team. Its nice to see Anthony and Dalton getting to 'share' in a few things and so they can have something in common at school.
Jorjah will be going into the 5th grade this year. It doesn't seem like my 'baby girl' is that old already. She still seems so little and that she shouldn't be that old!! She is really excited for this year, due to the fact that in Arapahoe - in 5th grade, you get to start 'moving' to all your classes and go to different teachers. I just think that she likes that she can get up and walk around ever 50 minutes (haha)!! The past couple years were kinda hard on her I think. Her class is VERY 'clicky' and there where lots of times that she would end up by herself alot. But I think she finally got herself set into a group of friends that she's happy with, and she gets to spend time with. Plus I've been trying to get her 'included' more with Girl Scouts, and lots of the school activities.
Jonah is headed into the 3rd Grade with one of my favorite teachers! Mrs. Schutz is a very 'hands on' teacher and makes things fun to learn. She also teaches them ALOT about the computer and even has them make their own podcasts. I hope that Jonah likes it this year; last year he struggled as well. He is SO smart and off the charts for his ITBS testing... but his attitude and his inability to pay attention kills him. He was caught several times last year reading 'leasure' books during actual class time. His teacher was not happy with him..... SO - I'm really hoping this year goes smoother for him as well.
Joselyn gets to move on to the Afternoon preschool. She loved last year and is counting down the days till she gets to go back! She is such a smart little thing - she could've gone on the Kindergarten, but since the school here is more..... advanced (?) (Kindergarten is looked at as 1st grade, and Afternoon Preschool is looked at as Kindergarten now).... I just felt that it wouldn't hurt her to have preschool again.
Gavrie is in for a real treat this year - he gets his first experience of school! Morning Preschool!! I'm not sure if he's ready or not.... but we're gonna try. He is so stubborn at times - I just pray he gets something out of this year!! lol Glen and I comment often about how he is going to be the one that tests every last nerve we have!!
Then we have our little Malachi. He is our late bloomer. We had to get him on the Early Childhood Intervention Team due to the fact he didn't want to walk or talk - and he was 19 months old! But since we did that - he is now RUNNING, and shows no chance of slowing down! He still doesn't talk a whole lot but I have taught him several 'signs' that he can show us when he wants/needs something. Lately, Mali has been very 'interested' in the toilet.... everything he can get his hands on, ends up in the toilet. Needless to say, we have gone through 3 rolls of toilet paper in the past 2 days due to him just throwing everything in. He lost my make-up bag (which I did eventually find under the desk) and he just recently lost my zipdrive that had all my important papers, notes, and 'Lending Library' items through the CWNP. I told Glen 'As much as we wanted to get him to walk, how the heck do we get him to sit down now'?? He is a VERY busy boy!!
Then is our newest - Noelle. Our Happy Girl. She has been such a fun addition to our family. She is a chunky little miss, who loves to laugh and smile. She is already trying SO hard to crawl.... wow time flies by!! She is also already eating almost 2 full jars of baby food. She LOVES to eat! When we go and spend the day somewhere else she gets kinda 'pissy,' because she can't jump in her jumper. She LOVES her jumper and will spend so much time in that thing, that she will fall asleep in in! My favorite thing is when you walk into a room and she sees you, she just lights up with a huge smile and starts babbling. Just melts you!
Glen is still working at the Ethanol plant in Lexington. His Love of softball still has not diminished either.... He started up a team again this year to play Co-Ed Softball in Lexington. His team finished with the proud 2nd place finish in the league. (Although even the winning team said that we should've gotten 1st since we beat them - but o'well) We got a really cool plaque that we all signed and had team pics taken so that we can take them into the sponsers. Was a really fun year to play.... no arguments, but alot of 'hurts'!! He's already planning on next year!!
As for me - Between my classes, the kids and their schedules, I'm lucky to get anything done! I'm just glad to stay home this year and take a 'breather'!!
Well - Think that's all for now - I'll try and update more; now that I have time - HAHA
